Mother's day Mini sessions! {and 5 cute kids}

I am happy to announce that I am currently booking my mothers day mini sessions! But, before we get to that, I just need to share this little man. Little GQ Jack. Prepeare yourself. He has an adorable brother... And three sweet sisters! And their mama makes raising them, running a business and being completely put together 100% of the time look like it ain't no thing. Mom is the owner and director of The Reading Corner, in Lutz. I cannot, cannot say enough good things about this school. It is one of the most amazing educational enviroments I have ever witnessed, and I sincerely wish I did not live 45 minutes away. If you don't, please check them out. I'm back (for now). I just couldn't resist. {baby Mia}

I had to pop on the blog today to share a few sneak peeks of precious newborn Mia. She's the first baby girl in a group of my sister in law's close friends who meet every month or so and have since college. They have remained close, and I've watched as they have started to get married, have babies and make enormous changes in the Tampa Bay area and in the world. Seriously, this group of women is destined to do great things both separately and together. As I did little Mia's session, it struck me that out of the several babies that I have photographed in the group, she is the only girl. I asked her mom, and yep, the rest have all been boys! So this little princess has some big shoes to fill for her mom and her moms amazing friends and the legacy they are creating for her. And I think she'll be up to the task. This one will have brains in her head and I think it's pretty clear she's gotten her mommy's looks as well. Simply gorgeous, this one.

Welcome to the world, little Charlotte! What a sweet little peanut this one was. She wanted to take her time eating, but when she was done, she was asleep lickety split. She didn't even realize that the big kids were out having so much fun in the backyard merely steps away from her. :)


Mom made all the little knits, except for the flower headbands, and don't they look adorable on her sweet little princess?

sepia-toned loving {baby nephew Arie}

Oh. Arie. That little 4 letter word has become synonomous with love for me. When my brother called me last May to tell me I was going to be an Aunt, I was super excited.
Here's the thing about being an aunt though. You know you're going to love your own kids. You know they will take your breath away. I knew I would love my nephew, too. What I was not prepared for was being reduced to tears in the middle of the whale and dolphin show at Sea World when the first picture and his birth stats popped up in a text on my phone. Instantly. Smitten. Yep, I am a sucker. And the beauty is, I can spoil him. It's not like with my own kids where I have to worry about them becoming raving tyrants who insist on ice cream for dinner and will only bathe on thursdays. With Arie, I can send him numerous quantities of superfluous random stuff just because. And it's accepted. Because I'm his aunt. I'm supposed to spoil him.
Last weekend, I was able to go out to Colorado to meet my one and only (thus far) nephew. And let me just use these words again. Instantly. Smitten.
It's a fun thing to see your younger sibling holding their new baby. Not only does it make you feel exceptionally old, it also allows you to see them in this whole new light. I remember Eric (my brother) holding my babies when they were tiny and trying to hand them off to the nearest person over 12 being so unsure and akward. Those days have passed. He's met this new challenge with a wonderful ease and assurance. My Sister in law is tired, but was so kind and sweet to me the whole time. I wish we lived closer so I could poke around the little shops in Downtown Denver with her on the weekends. They had even gotten me some little bath items to use during my visit. I wish I'd been quite so pulled together with my first 3 week old.
Anyway, I could write about this baby for pages and pages, because as we know I am (all together now ) Instantly. Smitten.  Here's a little slideshow I put together of his newborn session. I had to use this Jack Johnson song, it's one of my boys' all time favorites, and I really do feel like these three are going to be better together.

I still have space in my valentine mini sessions! Since I think the valentines you can get this year are so so so adorable and will have all the parents swooning, I wanted to show you a little sample of some ideas you could put together.

For Finn's class, I will most likely put a little treat baggie together, since his class is pretty small. All you have to do is a hole punch in the corner of the card and tie a ribbon or thread through and attach it to the treat bag.

since Grady is in a larger 1st grade class, and because his class is the designated allergen free class, making it hard to find candy that's safe for all, I will just attach it to a pencil!

Alternatively, if your child is not in preschool or grade school, or they just insist on disney valentines, you can always just opt for wallets to send to close friends and family.

 Big sister is so in love with this baby. The whole session, she kept remarking "she's so adorable, right?!?!" Yep, you're right. And I know someone else who's pretty adorable too. :)
