Max {magic}

I know this mom has approximately 67,584 friends waiting to see a sneak peek of sweet baby Max. And with cuteness like this I am happy to oblige. Oh.My.Soul.
Let me preface by saying that I am kind of in love with Max's big sister Kaiya. She is cute as a button, and has the spunkiest, sassiest little personality. And did I say cute?

So knowing that I had that to work with, and that her brother was going to be just as yummy, I was reeeeaaaallllly excited about this session. In fact, I kind of forced my hand on it because mom was really nervous about how he would be. She claimed that all Max wanted to do was eat and she was concerned that he would not be the sweet, sleepy newborn I was looking for. Well, he made mom a liar. Sorry Marcy. When this was literally the 4th fame I snapped, I knew we were in for some good times.

And it kind of just went pretty well from there on out. I'm not saying that he didn't fuss. All newborns do. But as my friend Lauren and her hubby Brad like to say "this a'int my first time at the rodeo". Babies don't scare me. ;)

In fact, I feel like I should share this out-take so you can see that he DID cry. Actually, I love this picture. He's screaming and the rest of them are just tickled pink. That's life with a newborn for ya!

These things are fun, and fun is good.

There are so many, many things I love about what I do. One of them, and I have said this before, is getting to spend time with families in their homes. I love getting a feel for their dynamic. I love seeing the things that they do like my family, and the things they do differently. I love letting kids show me their rooms. It's so funny the things that get them excited "Look at this! This is the tissue I used to kill a spider!!!" I love that they'll tell me their secrets "Hey, did you know my sister always sleeps in my bed with me? My mommy doesn't know!" ( I will wager a bet that mom does know) ;)
Anyway, I had a great time with this family. They have 2 gorgeous girls, one who is about the same age as my Grady, and one adorable little baby who warmed my heart.

I couldn't decide which of these to sneak peek, so I did both.

Adorable Ava

I have had sooo many sweet baby girls to work with lately. I'm trying to get them all up on the blog because they are oh.so.adorable. I'm a little bit of a sucker for baby girls. Maybe because we have 2 boys, or maybe it's just all the pink and the hairbows! Little Ava did not disappoint and neither did her mama. I always bring headbands and bows with me, but Ava's mom had a whole arsenal ready and I barely had to even glance at my stuff. ;)

This one is my FAVORITE. Her eyes slay me. And the lips!

This family has had several sessions over the past few years, and my buddy Jack was pretty excited to show me his baby.

Sweet Savannah

I was so excited several months ago when Savannah's mommy announced her pregnancy on Facebook. Savannah's mom and dad were wedding clients a few years ago, and I love, love, LOVE watching my wedding clients move on to build their families. It's a huge treat. Not only did they bring an adorable newborn to the table, big brother Dakota is sooooooo photogenic and such a sweet soul. He was such a big helper with this session, and asked questions the whole way through. It was so awesome to see how involved he was.

My huckleberry friend. My Huckleberry {finn}

This weekend we had a special birthday in our house. Our funny man, my snugglebunny, Finn, turned 4.
web1 I did good. I didn't cry. Too much. I just can't believe how big he is! This child is the most witty, humorous little 4 year old I have ever met. He just cracks me up on a constant basis.
web2 He is sweet and compassionate. Not only does he charm adults, but he is a kid charmer as well. Every time we visit big brother's school, you would think I rolled in with Justin Bieber. The girls all line up for a Finn hug, and even the boys have to get in a high five. He even has one of the secretaries trained to immediately fetch him a lollipop when we walk through the door. {shout out Kim, he loves ya!}
web3 web7 web8 He loves music, everything from Raffi to Aerosmith. He loves to dance and shake his long surfer hair.
web9 While his brother was always pretty independant, and will only come in for a hug or kiss when begged, Finn seems to know when someone needs a cuddle. Despite the fact that he's close to half my weight, he still coerces me into carrying him WAY more than he needs to be. Its because I know that when I pick him up, he's going to wrap his arms around my neck and gently pat me on the back. It's like crack to this mommy's soul. And hey, I don't go to the gym so I might as well keep my arms toned, right?!?!
web4 web5 web6 For his pictures, he wanted to go to his school. He LOVES school, which I am so happy about, because after a not so great summer camp experience I was a little worried that he would not ever leave my side. He's got a couple little guys that he loves to hang with, and he's definitely into the social aspect of things!
web11 web10 I am so lucky and blessed that he's mine. And so thankful for the past four years with my Finn.

Sweet Love {Sweet Wedding}

Recently I had the honor of photographing this gorgeous wedding. It was a second wedding for both the bride and groom, and I have to say, I LOVE that! All the fun, all the beauty, minus the stress. Because you see, once a bride has gone through this before, she realizes that while this is an awesome, important, wonderful day. It's a day. In truth, I hardly remember my wedding, and I think most of my friends feel the same way. It becomes mass chaos, everything at light speed. So when Tracy called me to tell me about this very casual, super laid back backyard event, I was immediately smitten with the idea. Don't get me wrong. I love first time brides as well. You can't duplicate the excitement at an event like that. But when the ring bearer is doing this 30 minutes before the ceremony, it's gonna be a fun day.

web1 Speaking of ring bearers, look at how he carried the rings! So sweet!
