Oh. Arie. That little 4 letter word has become synonomous with love for me. When my brother called me last May to tell me I was going to be an Aunt, I was super excited.
Here's the thing about being an aunt though. You know you're going to love your own kids. You know they will take your breath away. I knew I would love my nephew, too. What I was not prepared for was being reduced to tears in the middle of the whale and dolphin show at Sea World when the first picture and his birth stats popped up in a text on my phone. Instantly. Smitten. Yep, I am a sucker. And the beauty is, I can spoil him. It's not like with my own kids where I have to worry about them becoming raving tyrants who insist on ice cream for dinner and will only bathe on thursdays. With Arie, I can send him numerous quantities of superfluous random stuff just because. And it's accepted. Because I'm his aunt. I'm supposed to spoil him.
Last weekend, I was able to go out to Colorado to meet my one and only (thus far) nephew. And let me just use these words again. Instantly. Smitten.
It's a fun thing to see your younger sibling holding their new baby. Not only does it make you feel exceptionally old, it also allows you to see them in this whole new light. I remember Eric (my brother) holding my babies when they were tiny and ~~trying to hand them off to the nearest person over 12~~ being so unsure and akward. Those days have passed. He's met this new challenge with a wonderful ease and assurance. My Sister in law is tired, but was so kind and sweet to me the whole time. I wish we lived closer so I could poke around the little shops in Downtown Denver with her on the weekends. They had even gotten me some little bath items to use during my visit. I wish I'd been quite so pulled together with my first 3 week old.
Anyway, I could write about this baby for pages and pages, because as we know I am (all together now ) Instantly. Smitten. Here's a little slideshow I put together of his newborn session. I had to use this Jack Johnson song, it's one of my boys' all time favorites, and I really do feel like these three are going to be better together.

I still have space in my valentine mini sessions! Since I think the valentines you can get this year are so so so adorable and will have all the parents swooning, I wanted to show you a little sample of some ideas you could put together.

For Finn's class, I will most likely put a little treat baggie together, since his class is pretty small. All you have to do is a hole punch in the corner of the card and tie a ribbon or thread through and attach it to the treat bag.

since Grady is in a larger 1st grade class, and because his class is the designated allergen free class, making it hard to find candy that's safe for all, I will just attach it to a pencil!

Alternatively, if your child is not in preschool or grade school, or they just insist on disney valentines, you can always just opt for wallets to send to close friends and family.

Anyway, these three little boys were all just a dream to work with. So gorgeous.

I know I have been gone for far too long, I have been busily working on all the holiday sessions and orders, and I am wrapping up the season. I'll be sharing some of those images in the coming weeks, but for now I will start with this beautiful backyard wedding I shot the day after Thanksgiving. The bride is all the way from the phillippnes, and is the new sister in law of my best friend. I'll just jump in, because I have been trying to get this post up all day and things keep popping up :)

And even more than that, we love new babies. Well, put them together and you've got a winning combination! One of the best things about my job and the fact that I have young children is that my clients become my friends. The flip side of that is that it becomes even more exciting when my friends become my clients. This family and our family have been friends since before we were 'families'. In fact, baby Owen's mom was present during the 3rd date with my husband years ago, and was a driving force in why he kept calling me ;) She and my sister in law go way way back. She came to our wedding, I went to hers. She came to visit when I had Grady, and so now, 6 years later, I was thrilled beyond belief to take my turn visiting her little man, Owen. The fact that he looks like a doll did not hurt our encounter ;) The fact that his daddy is a firefighter and had his work gear sitting nearby also did not hurt, and I definitely grabbed the opportunity to photograph Owen's teeny. precious self in daddy's boots.

Thank you Scott and Heather for sharing him with me, I can't wait to watch this little guy grow up. I know you can't, either.

Here's the rest of the family from Monday! Again, I am short on words. It's full on holiday season here at CVP and I proofing at any spare moment. But I did want to get these up for this fun family.

I have never seen a girl this age still so in love with her daddy. It truly touched my heart how sweet she was with him. Michael is definitely at the age that family pictures are more of a chore than a fun adventure. But he was such a trooper, and did smile when we got to talking about his band. He plays drums and guitar. The ladies will all swoon in a year or two! All the cousins

Met this awesome family down in Ybor for their session. These girls are TOO MUCH. Seriously. They had me in complete stitches, and I loved all the candid, natural smiles they were all too willing to give. Mom had them dressed in so many bright, vivid colors I knew right away this was going to be a fantastic time. I've been photographing this family for a long time, and I loved catching up with them!

Love me some MG! Is it any wonder these girls are gorgeous? I mean, mom and dad look like this, so....

Ok, now this isn't necessarily the christmas card shot (although it would probably be my pick) but I had to share. Mom and Dad had asked the girls so so so so many times to just sit and smile for ONE shot. Well, they weren't really into that plan. At this point, you can see mom just thinking "whatever, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!" I love how it shows off this family's personality.

Mom's sister and her beautiful family joined us as well, and I'll be posting some of theirs tomorrow. So don't fret Jessie, I didn't forget ya!

Ok, I promise that's the last perry como song titled post. Does anyone even know that song besides me?
I'd like to introduce sweet, cute, adorable Sebastian! His mama is a friend, and she and dad had a bet going. If he was born in September, dad got to name him. If he came in October, it was mom's choice. Well, this little guy must have known his name was supposed to be Sebastian, because mom went into labor late in the evening on Sept. 30, and baby was born 53 minutes into October. I think it's pretty clear he decided to take control of that!

Love this one. It's like he was looking straight at my soul.

Are you ready for some photo overload this morning? If not, just come back this afternoon. :) But really, you'll love looking at this sweet family, I promise. We had a great morning over at Kopak Garden in Clearwater. I had never even heard of this location, it was selected by this family, so I was so happy when I pulled into the parking lot. What an amazing place! There were so many fabulous little niches to shoot in, and the kids loved dashing around the courtyard. Now I know mom was worried that I didn't get a thing (moms usually are), and she thanked me for being so patient with her little tribe at the end. I have to say, she shouldn't have worried. They were great. Also, if you're ever working with a photographer who does NOT show extreme patience with your child(ren), it's time to find a new photographer. It's kind of a job requirement, in my opinion. Kids will be kids!
I love this shot. I think it's a true testament to the love in a family to just be surrounded by your gorgeous, giggling children. Sweet Isabelle was a little shy with me, but that's ok. It's in those instances when I like the "sneak attack" shots, to capture their true little beautiful selves.

Miss Olivia was the opposite of shy! She struck a pose at any available opportunity. What a natural!

Bobbie is 4, which is one of my favorite ages to shoot. They eat it up, they're great smilers, and they just naturally know how to be sweethearts.
And little Jett. Oh. my. goodness. If he goes missing, don't worry. I probably just borrowed him for an afternoon of fun! What a doll baby.

Hope you're not tired of adorable 1 year old girls. Then again, how could you be, really? Miss Audrina is another miracle baby. During her birth, the midwife noticed she was having some dips in heart rate and sent mom over to the hospital to deliver instead. Upon her arrival, doctors discovered that she had a congential heart defect that had been missed on ultrasounds. Thankfully, we have one of the mose wonderful children's hospitals in the country right in our backyards here in the bay area. Audrina was treated at All Children's hospital in St. Pete. Today, she still has to be watched closely, but just look at what an amazingly beautiful little miracle she has become. It was a pleasure to meet her and her mama, and hear her story.

Oh. my. soul. This little girl has got to be the sweetest newborn ever. And I've had 2 of my own. Her little nose and strawberry blonde hair just had me tickled the moment she arrived at my studio. Then, she began in with the smiles and adorable expressions. She slept from the moment we took her out of the car seat, and didn't cry until I was completely done with her anyway. Add all of this to the fact that she came a few weeks early, under circumstances where the doctors told her parents and grandparents that the outcome could have been very bad, and I was smitten. A real little smiling, sleepy, button-nosed miracle. Welcome to the world baby Rilynn. There's a whole lot of people so glad you're here.

Meet Sophia. Also known as the friendliest one year old I have ever met. Her mama and I used to work together waaaaaay back in the day, before I had kids. I was tickled pink when she emailed me saying she wanted some pictures of her baby girl.
When I arrived at our session, little Sophia practically jumped into my arms, and she just kept up with the smiles and cuddles the entire time.
I kind of adore her. Both my boys had that baby fine hair that sticks straight up, and she does too. She was exactly one year old last Friday, and I was so so so happy to share with her on her big day. Her 365th day!

She was not actually asleep in this picture, but she just laid her little head on her mom's shoulder and sighed and closed her eyes. It may be one of my favorite pictures ever.

Today is so gorgeous here in Tampa! We had a beautiful weekend, and I have so many fun sessions to share from the past week. This morning we awoke to a low temp in the 50's (which is relatively rare here in Oct.) I have the windows open, Pandora on, and I can hear the kids at the elementary school outside at recess. It just has me feeling so cheery and rejuvinated! Plus, I am currently editing some adorable one year old girls, so that just makes me smile. First up on the blog this week is Miss Kendall. She is the tiniest little peanut! I always marvel when I see teeny tiny babies, because mine were so huge at this age! Grady, who is now actually smaller than most of the other kids in his class, looked like the stay-puft marshmallow man at 1 year old. I'm truly not joking. When I worried to his pediatrician that he wasn't walking yet at 13 months, she told me he was probably too fat to stand up. (jokingly of course) I kinda miss those baby rolls... Ah, apparently all this fall air has me in a reminiscing mood as well. ;)

But really, folks. I am so happy for this couple. They are just some of the sweetest peeps ever, and they have been waiting for a long while to add to their family. So I'm ecstatic for them as they anticipate the arrival of their little man in Nov. He is due 11.11.11 so I'm kinda hoping he holds out, because what a rockin' awesome birthdate would that be?!?! Congrats you guys. Can't wait to come meet him!

Oh my goodness it was so hot this day, and by the end of our session mama was all but begging to get into the fountain at USF. So, we all did.

I love that so many of my clients lately have wanted pics of mom and dad alone together. I think I can safely say that for most married couples, the last pictures you get taken together are at your wedding. It's so nice to have a tangible reminder of where you've come since then, just the two of you.
Just be careful if you decide to kiss your husband on camera. Extreme shock may ensue.

Add a 1 year old girl, a 3 year old boy, a sweltering hot day and lots of fun, and you get this session. We were afraid the weather was not going to cooperate, but by the end of the session I think dad would have preferred if it opened up pouring. :) Everyone was a great sport, though and I really enjoyed our time together.
As an aside, I need to thank all my awesome clients for being patient with me for the past few weeks. I have been having frequent migraine headaches, and it makes it impossible for me to get on the computer. Not a good thing for editing, proofing, and blogging in this digital world. So I thank all of you because I know you're anxious. Everyone has been so understanding.

Brown eyed girl

Sweet Lily was maybe the first newborn I've met with big brown eyes. Very rarely do even babies of hispanic lineage come to me with such brown eyes. She was such a sweet little girl for our session, and once she fell asleep she was out for the count. This session was special since I've known her mama since before I got married, and I photographed this couple's wedding a few years ago. It's such a joy when wedding clients come back with their newborns, and then their families. It jolts me into reality as far as how long I've been loving this job. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this little sweetie as much as I did.

Beachy part deux

Here's a few sneak peeks from some of the beach minis I did in August. What a night it was! We were up against some pretty terrible weather all around us, and most of these clients drove all the way down or over in sideways sheeting rain! But our little corner of the beach remained untouched, and it was even rather nice since the cloud cover and breeze kept it cooler than normal. We lucked out. I chose 2 per family to keep it reasonable, but everyone has many more to choose from. Thanks all for braving the weather to come play with me. And everyone else, be on the lookout for more mini session dates coming very soon. The holidays are right around the corner!

This little ms. was spunky! Usually kiddos take a few minutes to warm up to the idea of having their picture taken. But not Miss Kaylee. She was all for it the moment I walked up. She had all sorts of funny faces and stories to share with me, and we had a lot of fun in our time together.

We even did some ballet. 4 year old style.

Mom, I'll have the rest up by the end of the weekend. Hope miss Kaylee had as much fun as I did.

I don't have girls, but if I did I hope they would be as sweet, cute and well rounded as these 2 little lassies. I have had the pleasure of watching them grow over the past couple of years, and I just can't help but be a little proud of what great kids they are. I have some seriously awesome clients. Seriously.

I am loving some of the shots I've gotten lately with little sibs looking in adoration at their big brothers and sisters. Being an oldest child myself, it always makes me feel a little bad about times I was mean to my brother. I think it's universal that a little one thinks the big one walks on water.

I couldn't choose which of these to share, so I went with both.

They were seriously such troopers for this shot. The ground was soaking and they didn't like the idea of getting wet, but I think it helped that I showed them the bottom of my shorts after to prove we were all in it together.

I was so happy to get the chance to photograph this little guy. What a sweetie, and what a sleeper! I don't think I've ever had a newborn who didn't wake up at some point needing to eat. He was a pro. Maybe it's because he knows I'm gonna be with him for the long haul, big brother and sister are seasoned CVP experts. ;) I mean, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em, right!?!?

Since I had big brother holding him, I have to throw one in of Big sis too, because she's just one of my favorite little people ever ;)

I recently had the absolute joy of working with this awesome family. They were down from St. Louis on family vacation. They chose Anna Maria Island, which happens to be my family's very favorite beach spot, too. If you're from the Tampa area I highly encourage a trip down there. It's super family friendly and I think the beaches are even prettier than those along the coast of St. Pete. {shhhhh}

Anyway, I had a wonderful time that evening with this whole extended family. The kids were troopers and despite the heat they just kept plugging along for over 2 hours. I had a reallllllly hard time narrowing it down to a reasonable number of photos for the blog, since I just love so many of them! Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

I seriously almost took this child home with me.<3

Baby, you're a firework.

I've been so late this year posting my kids birthday session posts. But, you know what they say about the cobbler's kids with no shoes.
My little {big} boy turned 6 last month. Grady. My first baby.My sweet blue eyed dazzler's going to first grade on TUESDAY. I can't even really think about that or I start to get a little teary. He had an awesome 5th year. He did so amazing in kindergarten, and is reading full books to anyone who will listen. He is still my sweet, sensitive little guy. Smart as a whip. He loves to dance {although unfortuately he gets his moves from my husband} and run. This year he learned how to ice skate. He absolutely loves to laugh.

He just got glasses, and without them I can still see traces of the little baby that he emerged from.

But with them, he suddenly LOOKS six to me.

The biggest thing that I want to say about Grady is though, that he is the best big brother. He adores his brother. He will routinely give up something he's playing with when Finn starts to cry. And if he gets the last green lollipop, he will gladly give it to Finn, even though green is his favorite color. He is always on the lookout to protect Finn, and we even have to remind him that he's not the dad. He loves that kid.

And Finn thinks he absolutely hung the moon, and probably the stars and the sun too.

Seeing what a great kid my guy is absolutely leaves me speechless daily. Have a great year, "monk".

Just wanted to get this family a sneak peek posted today. These kiddos were gorgeous and FULL of personality! I am short on words today as I am taking care of a sick little guy here and nursing a headache myself, but really I feel like I can let the pictures do the talking.

Wonderful is...

To a new parent: a sleeping baby.

To him: a sneak attack from a 3 year old.

To them: 2 healthy boys, a new life, and knowing they have each found their better half.

To her: the knowledge that, despite the odds, her grandsons will never once have to question how much she loves them.

To him: a truck, a cow and jumping on mom and dad's bed.

To them: knowing that your brother's always got your back.

To me. The honor and humility I feel each and every time I am asked into someone's home to photograph their lives. This time, even more so. Becca is a friend,and an amazing mother. Her amazing mother is ever so ill, and the fact that she could be there for this session with her grandsons absolutely touched my heart more than I can express through words. She told me no less than 10 times how wonderful I was to be there, to document some of baby Jackson's first days. I was a little doubtful about that at first, because I really don't feel like the wonderful one in any situation. But then I realized, it all lies in your definition of wonderful.

One of the cool things (of many) about my job, coupled with where I live, is that I have the unique opportunity to reconnect with old friends when they come to the area for vacation. It's always so awesome to see them, because I currently live so far from where I grew up and where I went to school. Added bonus, they usually bring their babies with them, so I get to meet all sorts of adorable little people that I have watched grow on facebook and through email, but might not have gotten to meet otherwise.
Destiny was one of the first people I met at college. She lived on my hall and was in the music program where I started out. Sidebar: I was that person who changed my major just about every semester. When people ask what I majored in, I query "what didn't I?"
She and Brian have been together since the beginning of time. ;) No really, they dated for a long while before they got married, and I fondly remember their wedding. I was so happy for them when they broke the news that they were expecting a little one, and oh.my.gosh is he a cutie! I think he looks so much like his mom, who is gorgeous, so he's a lucky guy!
Anyway, y'all know I could ramble on. Yes, Y'all. Did I mention we went to school in Tennessee? By the end of our session I was easily speaking with a southern drawl.

Ah, lovely insomnia. Hits me every so often, which is no fun because I will fully admit I am someone who needs my eight hours (my husband will gladly attest to this fact). But after laying in bed for an hour and a half, I figured I might as well just get something done. I've been wanting to share some images from this gorgeous wedding for a while now. So if anyone else is up at 4 am, at least you'll have something fun to do. Or if you're reading this at a more reasonable hour, bring me coffee. I probably need it. ;) On a side note, if you know anyone getting married this fall or winter I would LOVE a referral for their wedding. This sweet family is waiting on a new little sweetheart to arrive in June, so we got together to document their last few weeks as a family of three. Their other little lady turns three in June, too, and she and I had a blast taking some pictures with her mom and dad. She was immediately my best little buddy, and wanted to hold my hand just about every time we crossed the street. She probably could have asked me for a pony and I would have bought one for her. I just loved how into the pictures her dad was too. She clearly has him wrapped around her finger as well! Good luck on the new little arrival, L family! She's sure to be precious, based on the first model ;)

My little guy turned 3 almost a month ago, and in the spirit of being ~~a super busy work at home mom with potentially too much going on~~ fashionably late, I thought I'd take today to share his birthday and 3 year photo shoot. This little man. Sigh. Just thinking of all the things I want to say about him brings tears to my eyes. You've heard of daddies being wrapped around their little girl's fingers? well, this little boy has mine. tight.
He's such a character. While my oldest will undoubtedly have no trouble being a leader in school and top of his class, Chris and I joke that Finn will charm his way into a "B" ;) We have a little class clown on our hands. Punishment gets us nowhere with this child,he just grins and laughs and most of the time we find ourselves holding in giggles too. He doesn't like cake. No really, on his birthday he happily ate crackers smeared with spreadable cheese while the rest of the family ate his cake. We are not sure how that happened either, since Chris and I both have a hard time walking through the bakery section at publix without putting a cake in the cart. And speaking of publix, he's the only kid I've ever seen to smile and say "No, thanks" when the lady behind the counter offers a cookie. We're working on saying yes and then letting mommy eat the cookie...
He's a total mama's boy and I am eating it up while I can.
He's a snuggler, but only with me.
He's a big guy. My linebacker. He's wearing clothes right now that Grady just grew out of.
He also still likes to be carried. My back may not survive.
He has the wittiest comebacks for just about anything. The other day I told him we had to go to AT&T to get my phone fixed, and maybe we would have to get a new one. Without missing a beat, he said "ok, can I have the other one?" I could go on and on about the little man he is, and the great one I know he will become. But here's a few pics because I know that's what you're here for. ;)

On birthdays, we always do pancakes or waffles with candles in them.

He got a bike this year, but his favorite part is absolutely the bell. He refuses to even TRY the pedals on the bike, and is just as happy with us pulling him along while he rings the bell. We're cracked, I tell you.

Ad here's a few from his 3 year shoot. He's not normally happy when I pull out the camera anymore, like a true photographer's kid. However, he's been modeling for Bealls recently and I asked him to do this for Mr. David (the bealls photographer) and he willingly agreed. Um. ok. I resisted the urge to put on my best Caroline from Jersey houswives accent and tell him "I'm family. Nothing beats family." But I just decided to roll with it and if he thought David was going to use these, so be it.

And a little birthday storyboard I did for him. I have one from Grady's 3 year session too and I love it.

Bravo to you if you looked at all that. ;) Sorry for the length. I just get a little carried away about my boys.

Welcome baby Anthony! He's the third under 3 for this little family, and they feel so complete with him. Mama said during the session that even though he was only 2 weeks old, she couldn't imagine or remember their family without them. I think that's one of the most magical things about a new baby. Almost like even though you have fond memories of time before your child, they are always in there somewhere on the outskirts. Having a baby, be it the 1st, 3rd, or 8th, changes everything for the better.

Love sweet "I have to yawn with my whole body" moments.

Big brother wasn't to sure about me, but he gave me some great stuff despite it.

Get ready for a bittersweet week on the blog this week. I'm just warning ya. Well, ok more for me than you probably, but I think it will hit home for many.

I have started this post so many times, and so many times I have found myself at a loss. But then I remembered this quote (in the blog title) from E.E Cummings and it just fit. Those of you who have been blog followers for a while will recognize these kids. 2 are mine, of course, and 2 are our best friends. Have you ever just found a friend who clicked? Who you can cry to, laugh with, and confide in. Someone who will tell you the truth when you need it and lie to your face when you ask if you look ok after 1 hour of sleep and too many cups of coffee? That's who my friend Terra is to me. And her kids. Oh those kids. There are very few people on this earth I would jump in front of a moving vehicle for, but those kids are high on my list. I don't have any nieces or nephews yet, but how I feel for these kids is what I imagine I will feel for them. They are my kids honorary cousins. So many times we have walked together through the mall and had people do a double take trying to figure out if we've got 2 sets of twins, or which kids are whose.

A few months ago, Terra called and told me that her husband Matt had been offered a job in New Jersey. I have to admit, I didn't think they'd go. They both have family here. Terra has never lived anywhere but Florida. But she's also a big city girl at heart, and the chance to live minutes from THE big city, well that was enough to lure her away. Tomorrow they'll be on their way, and my emotions have been in a tizzy all day.

These kids have literally grown up together. Mason and Grady were just babies when we met, and we shared our pregnancy with the little ones. We've always referred to Finn and Maddie as "the twins" and I even dressed Finn as Maddie for his first halloween. They've shared double strollers, trips to Disney World, pacifiers, pajamas, and countless pizzas. And when I think of all that being cut down to once every six to 12 months, it's a little too much for me to take in at once. Thank God for skype, because I am not sure how we would get through this if it were 1982.

To say they will be missed is an understatement, and yet I am so excited to see where this journey takes my sweet friends.

I have known little miss Emma since she was about 3 months old, and now she's going on 5 and pushing kindergarten in the fall! It made me almost as nostalgic as when Grady started last fall! She's got a lot of changes coming up besides that, too since her family is about to welcoms her new little brother! Not too soon, though mommy. ;) Emma was a preemie so her mom was nervous that she'd have the baby before we got to do pictures, but he's hanging in there. Baking away! Love this little series. True emotion. That's what it's all about ;) Pink bubbles. That sounded like such a cute idea. However, crayola may have an epic fail on their hands with these. What a mess, and they were nearly impossible for her to blow.Bubbles in general, however are always a fun thing to add to a session.

Mr. Noah is turning 2! I'm always shocked from year to year to see how much kids change, and the year from 1-2 is a big one for changes. Last year, Noah was walking with help from mom and dad. This year, he kicks a soccer ball better than I do (which is not hard to do, by the way). He's gearing up for a vintage circus themed birthday party in a couple of weeks, and we had some fun playing with themed props at our photo shoot. My pal Victoria has been an only child for a long time. She's had mom and dad's undevided attention, and has often joined in with us adults at christmas parties and the like. She's such an amazing kid. Which is why I had no doubt she'd also be such an amazing big sister to her new baby brother. And I was right.
Just look at the devotion!

Little Nicolas was a joy to work with. He slept like a champ, and never even peeped. LeSigh.

It was a cloudy, blah day outside for our session, so I got to play a little with some shadows, which I love. Mmmmmmmmm contrast.

You know that anxiety you feel as you refresh my blog or website waiting to see if your family pictures have posted yet? Well. Multiply it by 12 and add a few digits and you might then understand how it feels when you're a photographer waiting on images of your own family. It's torture. TORTURE. You know in your head that surely the other photographer got *something*, but then you kill yourself thinking of all the things that you should have done differently, because you know how you're "supposed" to act, but in spite of it you felt the red heat of embarrasment as your own little angels didn't comply 100% with what the photographer asked, and you had to just find a happy place several times out of panic. Yeah.
Recently, my pal Teresa ofWild Sugar Photography in St. Petersburg met up to capture some images of our own families. She amazed me with what she got of mine, and had them done with super speed. I have not been so speedy, but I am finally wrapping up for the season, and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I have a lot to share, but everyone else has already seen their entire galleries so they won't be so much sneak peeks as a share of favorites. Teresa has been so patient, but she recently admitted she's freaking out a little so I wanted to give her a few to hold her over!

What a fun family! 4 boys. One set of twins. A teen. A pre-teen. 2 pre-schoolers. One busy mom and dad! I am going to keep the rambling short as it's just crazy busy times over here, thankfully I have an amazing hubby who doesn't mind when I glue myself to the computer on Sunday morning.

I always love it when brothers hug. Sisters will do dainty little cute hugs, but brothers always go all out.

My blog followers have been seeing this little miss since before she was born! What a little doll she is becoming. It's always a pleasure to see her family and her big brother too. But this session was mostly about her. Second kids get overlooked sometimes when it comes to pictures (I am guilty of this too) and so mom and dad want to be sure they have some to show her of when she was a baby. I love this age too, so many smiles and so many new things happening in the world of a 9 month old!

This year's mini sessions will be held on Saturday, Oct 9 from 3-7 pm at Curtis Hixon Park downtown and Saturday Oct 16th from 8-11:30 am on Davis Island. Mini sessions will be 20 minutes long and booked every half hour, first come, first dibs on time!

Includes session, online proofing of 7-10 proofs, 50 2 sided holiday cards*, 1 8x10 print and 4 5x7 prints.
*Holiday cards may be substituted for 2 medium resolution digital files to make your own cards or 5x7 prints.

It's a big day! Grady set out for his first day of kindergarten today. We didn't have any tears (from him or I), and he even tried to help make a little boy at his table feel better about his mama leaving. My sweet guy. I keep looking at the schedule his teacher gave me to see what he might be up to right now. It's 9:10 am so it looks like he's in the middle of his reading block. Yeah. I'm THAT mom.
My friend shared a poem with me yesterday. I am going to repost it with some of the pics of Grady's first day. I am warning you up front. If you are pregnant, nursing, or recently sent a child to their first day of school, you may want to keep a box of tissues handy for this one. Remember how I said there were no tears. Well, that was before I went back and read this again.

He started school this very morning
And he seemed so very small
As I walked there beside him
In the Kindergarten hall

And as he took his place beside
the others in the class
I realized how all too soon
Those first few years can pass

Remembering I saw him as
he first learned how to walk
The words that we alone made out
When he began to talk

Love it when that happens! I have so much to share and I am trying to play catch up. So tonight, I am sharing sweet little man "J"! Talk about a gerber baby! He has the perfect big eyes and sweet little face, and he was so much fun. Historically, 1 year olds are hard to work with. Right around 1, lots of things are happening. They are getting more mobile, and they also realize that they can manipulate things in their environment based on their behavior. This usually means that they decide pictures are a no go, and I run. a lot. But not sweet little "J". He greeted me with the biggest ever smile and was so happy throughout the session, despite the insane heat. It was very hard to narrow these down for a sneak peek.

Our local Cracker Barrel has had Christmas trees in the window now for a solid 3 weeks. So, while you may be thinking it's WAY to early to consider Christmas pictures, it's not. This year I will be offering one day of mini sessions, and also booking regular sessions for Christmas. I will be announcing the mini session date very soon. If you have not yet signed up for my email mailing list, make sure to do so. It's right over there on the lefthand side of the screen! Details will be released there first, so don't miss out.
Also, on other news. If you are a friend in CO, I will be coming out there for some mini sessions on Sunday, Sept 26. And I'll flat out admit that I have a bit of a soft spot for families with 2 little boys. I've had a lot of them lately, it seems! So here they are.

I have been photographing this big eyed cutie for several years now, and he's only just several years old! It's such an amazing treat to get to watch all these kiddos grow up and change. "J" has always been a natural in front of the camera...

"J" has some big changes coming up in his life soon. This big guy's about to be a big brother. I can't even tell you how crazy excited I am to meet his little brother! I love this next shot, his little face looks like "oy! They're at it again!"

I have been shooting at Curtis Hixon a whole lot lately,so much so that I have joked that I should just put up a sign for the studio on the side of the Art museum, so it was a refreshing change to get on the other side of the river this time!

Vision schmision.

There are so many awesome things about my job that sometimes it seems perfect. But one of the tough things is balancing my vision for a session with what actually goes down. See, even if I have never met a family before, I try to get enough of an idea about them to sort of start dreaming up what we may do. Sometimes I hit it right on the noggin. Other times, especailly when I know the children well, it doesn't exactly happen like I think it will. A friend commented to me today "it sure is good your kids will let you take their picture!" My response "they don't always. I just have more time to make them."
So it is with this family. You saw a little sneak peek of Mr. Mason last week, and today I wanted to share some of his baby sister, Maddie. As I said, their mom is my dearest friend, and I hold these two as close to my heart as if they were my own flesh and blood. For Maddie's session recently, I had a vision. I saw bright colors, lots of shoes, her sitting patiently trying them on. And I got some of that.

But by about the 14th time she started to run away from my set up toward a nearby fountain, I realized that I was going to have to roll with it a bit. And I am soooo glad I did, because these are my 2 favorite of her. You'll notice, no bright colors. I favored black and white. No shoes, they were long forgotten. Just Maddie, being her usual gorgeous spunky little self.
I love the motion of the pearls in this one.

Editing these tonight was a good reminder that no matter what my plans may be, I might find unexpected surprises in the unscripted. And that, after all, is why I do what I do.

I love love love this family! Ok, I love pretty much all of the wonderful families I get to photograph, but I just feel a strong connection to families that have 2 little boys, especially blue eyed boys :)
Moms always {always} have this fear that their kids are being terrible little tyrants and that I am not going to get any decent shots at all, but no worries to this mom, or any other mom for that matter. While you might feel like they are not cooperating, I am getting a genuine sneek peek into their adorable little, very real, personalities. And what cute personalities they are...

Step aside Frank, there's a new cat in town!

Seriously, my child is the biggest ham in the world. 5 years ago today I checked in to Bayfront medical Center in St. Petersburg, and at 12:42 pm my world changed forever. From the moment I first looked into my little boy's brilliant blue eyes I was irrevocably, completely, unconditionally smitten. Of course, I know every mom feels the way I do about her child, but for those of you who are not moms yet, I can't even put into words the adoration.

My "monk". Is 5 going on 25 this year. It's going to be a big one, he's starting kindergarten in just over a month! A little about Grady, because he's super special.

-He was the crankiest baby EVER. No really. I am not even exaggerating. But right about 1 year old he turned into the sweetest, most well behaved toddler I have ever met. That continued until the age of three. Am I right moms, when I say 3 is the new 2?!?!

-He was talking in full out complete sentences at the age of 17 months. He used to freak people out by introoducing himself and asking for a snack. He's small anyway, so imagine this tiny little guy who looks like he'd still be on a bottle asking for a juice box. With proper manners.

-He got his first tooth at nearly a year old and didn't walk until 15 months. He was a bit of a late bloomer on everything but the vocab! :)

-He's the sweetest little mother hen ever. I have lots of friends with little girls between the ages of 2-3 years old. He loves taking them under his wing and helping them learn and grow. While other boys his age are playing shoot-em-up games, he's perfectly content to sit and color for an hour with a friend. Seriously, he melts me.

-He loves veggies. He doesn't like fruit.

-He's really so so so good. Of course, every kid has their moments, but I realized recently that when he's bad it almost shocks me, because I just sort of expect him to be good. Even through the terrible 3's, he never once bit, hit, took someone else's toy or really even cared if someone snatched HIS toy right out of his hand.

-He loves to learn. He's getting really good at easy math, and is on the cusp of reading on his own. My favorite moment from his birthday party this weekend was Grady, sitting in a pile of toys and unopened gifts, looking at a book. It's classic him.

-He has a new trick. Winking ;)

This morning, I dropped him off at all day summer camp for the first time. He was a total pro and gave me a huge thumbs up when I turned to look back at him. It's still giving me a lump in my throat 5 hours later, and I am kind of sitting here counting down until I can go pick him up. Thank goodness I made it to the car before I cried.
Happy Birthday to my sweet little {BIG} boy. It's been the best 5 years ever, and I can't wait to see the awesome person you become.

I just had to pop on quickly and share these pictures of Grady and his buddy Mason. They rolled it out gangsta style for me recently, and I am completely in love with them. The boys are six weeks apart in age, and Mason's mama is the best friend a girl could ever have. I am so lucky to see these guys grow up together. I have a special birthday post coming up next week for Grady's 5th birthday, but I just had to share these today.

Like, really hard.

These two. Oh what characters! Let me set the scene. It was potentially the hottest. day. ever.
I had a babysitter malfunction, so I was forced to bring my two monkeys with me to work. Thankfully "P&E's" mom is suuuuuppppeeer cool, and a semi-new and completely fabulous friend, who didn't mind seeing them. She even brought them lollipops. However, having the two of them with me on a session wigs me out, because they have a penchant for running pell mell through my shots. It's maddening. Add to that the heat, and I had sweat stains the size of texas on my shirt. Thankfully, their mom was very happy to compare hers with me, making me feel a bit less like a beast.
Despite the elements, P&E turned on the cute for me. Apparently they sell cute in a can now, because it's hard to be this cute naturally. Ok, I take that back. It's completely natural for these two.

Now this, THIS makes me giggle every time. Oh the cuteness. He looks like Calvin from Calvin and Hobbs, who I happen to think is the cutest imaginary child ever.

Not to be outdone,

At the end, we let all four madmen romp in the sprinklers at the park. Oh they were refreshing! I even totally used Finn to get in the water myself. "NO, I am not a crazy person, I just need to acclimate my baby to the water so he understands it's fun...or....something..."

This morning, I had to go back and dig up this storyboard sample I made over 3 years ago.

Why? Because little miss up there was one of my first newborn clients. And I can't even believe how big she is now!

She and her gorgeous family recently met me for a session. Mommy's an artist, so I knew it was going to go swimmingly. Big brother was a total ham. At one point I had my lens on miss "L" and I looked over my shoulder to see him posing like this...

Good thing I'm a quick draw.

And the new baby I had not yet met. I really don't need words to tell you how phenomenally cute he is.

Mom told me about what a great relationship the two boys have, and at one point baby "M" hit his head on the ground. Big brother was right on hand with a shoulder to cry on. Literally.

Of course, he loves his sister as well.

I know I say this all the time, but I just feel so blessed to work with the most fabulous, beautiful families in Tampa Bay, and this family is certainly no exception. Thanks mama "H" for bringing your beautiful family. The way you love them is simply tangible.

Engaged: Sarah and Talbot

Sarah and Talbot are going to the chapel in September, and boy can you tell that they are stoked! They are simply adorable together, and Talbot had me laughing the entire session. Pretty good, since when he got there he confessed that he was a bit scared that the session was going to be torture. I think we managed to get through with very little waterboarding and only an occasional pinch from Sarah ;).
I can't wait to join them for their big day very soon. I know it's going to be fantastic. By the way, I thought I'd use this opportunity to re-mention that I do photograph weddings. One of my closest girlfriends was shocked to find this out the other day (apparently she doesn't stalk my blog...tsk tsk). I don't have a ton of wedding images on my portrait site, but please contact me if you or someone you know is getting hitched and I will be happy to meet with you to discuss plans. I am currently booking weddings through February 2011, and if your date is past that, I can still pencil you in and work out the details in a month or two.

I always wanted four kids. Even when I was four, I think I wanted four kids. I just always thought that was a perfect number. Even, so everyone always has a buddy, and yet enough to add fun and chaos to just about every event. I remember summer days spent in MN with my cousins (there were only 6 of us total), and how I used to love every second of having so many friends to play with. I never wanted to go home, and I always imagined that one day I would just have enough kids that no one would ever be lonely. And four seemed like enough. Now, before you all get excited, no. I am not pregnant with twins. My husband would be jumping off the skyway bridge right now if that were the case. But I did recently get to do a session with this fun family. They have four kids. Hence, my nostalgia, because I'm doubting that's something that is ACTUALLY going to come to fruition for me. But what fun I had playing with this little group. More fun...they will be welcoming monkey number 5 soon! Mama better bet I am coming over for a newborn session. Even if she doesn't ask. I know her friends and I will just have them assist me in a break in.
We captured some of the last light in Hyde park and had such a blast. And I gotta commend mom and dad. While 4 kids may sound daunting to a lot of people, these were the best behaved 4 kids I have ever seen. Ever. They are all smart as a whip too, and this little one had me in stitches. She's the same age as Finn, yet she's this sassy little fully potty trained, big ol' full sentance talking, gum chewing spitfire and I fell completely in love with her and her brother and sisters.

I loved getting to meet these little sweeties. Backstory: When I found out I was pregnant with Grady I didn't know anyone who had babies. At all. None of my college friends had gotten to that stage quite yet, and the people who I worked with had mostly elementary age kidlets. I had been a nanny in college so the basic babycare I had down. But I was terrified because I knew that eventually I was going to need someone who was going through the same things I was and understood right at that moment. It's easy to giggle at a new mommys worries when you have kids who are much older, because you know she'll get through it and in a few years she'll wonder why she worried about how many times her newborn pooped in 24 hours. So I sought out someone. I found the birth boards on Babycenter.com and felt immediately at ease. Here were hundreds of women going through morning sickness and swollen ankles, just like me! During the few years I spent on that birth board and another that we all migrated to (I sadly just don't have much time anymore), I made some great "imaginary" friends. And if you are one of those friends you know when I say imaginary what I am referring to! Anyway, one of them was "C". She lives a mere hour from me, yet we had never met until last weekend when she came up here for a session with her three gorgeous girls. I am about halfway through editing her session and I keep thinking to myself, these are straight up all american little gals! They each had the cutest little personality that I got to see through my lens, and it was a great evening with some of the delicious remaining light.

You knew it would come out again eventually :) Just sharing a few of sweet baby "A" who may have been my sleepiest, most agreeable newborn to date. She was also teeny tiny at under 6 lbs, and usually they are the fussy ones, so it was an extra special treat. Mama was also the most assured first time mom I have ever met(believe me I was a basket-case), and I truly felt blessed to work with this family. Really, I don't need to go on and on with words. You'll see what I mean.

I just love this little yawn/rooting thing. It makes me smile.

eyes, bellybuttons, babies. Does it get any better?

I was so happy that this family came down to my in home studio for a session for their new addition. They were one of my first clients years ago and I am in love with their kids. Most of what I am sharing in this post is black and white, but I had to share one of the two oldest in color, because they both have these amazing eyes that I simply cannot get over.

And recently they welcomed their new little brother, who at about 4 weeks old was already chubby and oh so cute! I know his eyes will change a bit as he ages, but I can't wait to see him again to check them out. There's some seriously amazing eye color genes running through this baby.

Ok, and now the cutest thing I have ever seen. Big brother's belly button. Mom said "hey, N, show Courtney your Cinnamon Bun" and he turned around, pulled up his shirt and revealed this...

I am really thinking Cinnabon could use him in an advertising campaign.

Rockstars

I have had 3 newborns in the past 7 days, and they have all been total rockstars. Even when they weren't sleeping, they were uber cooperative and soooooo squishy. First up, little "M". Mom was worried when I got there, because he'd been having a rough morning, but all he needed was my "womb simulation devices" and he was out like a light. Putty in my hands, I tell ya!

He kept making the cutest little fishy kiss faces. It was all I could do not to lean down and kiss those lips! I refrained, but you can feel free to kiss the computer screen if you want. I won't tell.

Oy I am a sucker for dramatic black and whites with newborns!

I wanted to share a little slideshow I put together for a friend of her son (and daughter). Normally I don't share a full session, but we did a little session for Alex recently, because he is on his way to St. Judes in Memphis for treatmet for some tumors he has on his kidneys. I know he's going to be a total rockstar and come through the treatments with flying colors, and I will be photographing him in the years to come. But I just couldn't resist that little bald head. ;) Please, if you pray, join me in prayer for this special little boy. They will be arriving there this weekend and will begin meetings with surgeons and doctors next week. I know his mom and dad are anxious, but feel very blessed that the best hospital in the country will be caring for little Mr. Man. As a sidenote, the cutie patootie little girl in the pictures (Alex's sister) holds my sons heart. He is completely enamored with her and tells me all the time that they are going to get married and live in a skyscraper in the big city. Ironically, he would also like to be a trolley car operator when he grows up. He may have to pick a dream and work with it...

This big guy just had a birthday!

His 6th, and I have so loved watching him grow up. Mama owns Kidz club up in new tampa, and if you haven't gone you should! We love it there. It's always super clean and there are so many fun activities and classes to participate in. They also do some super fun birthday parties, which are perfect for the summer birthdays coming up. AC people!
Mom has been stalking the blog so I thought I'd better get a few up for her to see! I'll have the rest done soon...

This family was SUCH fun! They came all the way from OH for their session. Ok, ok, they had other stuff to do in the area, but I was thrilled that they also booked a session while they were here. When I talked to mom the night before to confirm her session, she expressed that they were all a bit nervous. I told her what I tell everyone who says that to me. Just try to pretend I am not there. I will set the scene, and then you roll with it as you would if I hadn't. Well, they were pros! We got so many wonderful, candid shots of their happy little family. And I got a sneak preview of life in about 4 years, with two boys! I gotta say, that's gonna be a blast :) Thanks "M" family for a great morning. {two}day

Today, he's 2. TWO! I can't even believe it. My sweet baby, who gave us such a scare in the beginning (really, daddy was so stressed he wound up in the ER next door) has turned into a true little boy. All boy. He's sweet, funny, and laid back. I see this one being my class clown, for sure.
When he was born, I didn't get to see him for a loooooong time. Ok, it was about 15 hours, but to a mama missing her newborn that may as well be an eternity. When they finally brought him in (while my husband was in the ER) I couldn't believe that the olive complected, dark little bundle in my arms was all mine. He had a wise little look in his eyes, like he knew a joke or secret that he wouldn't share. And wouldn't you know, he still does that today.

But the dark complexion has been replaced with some pale irish skin and blue eyes anyone would kill for.
He laughs easily and rolls with the punches. Well, most of the time...

But what would your second birthday be without a tantrum, anyway? We made it all better with his lovey and some birthday waffles!

We went to swim and to play with friends, then had cake and opened some presents, and finished out his birthday with some play outside in the backyard.

On a side note, if anyone in the bay area knows someone who does a decent job with little boys haircuts, please let me know. I am DONE with the kiddie places. I am not sure what part of "please leave it long, just clean up the sides and front, and please no straight line bangs" they are not quite comprehending, but every time I take my boys in they wind up with bowl cuts with....straight line bangs! I have no problem with the cut, per se, but it's not the surfer boy look I love and am trying for! And it happens every time.

Ok, it's late. I had so much more to say but I just can't remember. So, I will leave you with the picture we used on his birthday invite this year. I can't wait for his party. My friend Lindsey from Bella Grace Party Designs has been planning her little booty off, and his party is going to rock!

Just want to share a quick sneak peek of little "N". We are knee deep in a move to a new house, so it's been crazy around here, but I just can't resist this little guy and his big, soulful, brown eyes. I always wanted a baby with big brown eyes, but if you know my husband and I the likelihood of that was slim to none :)

I just realized that I never posted a sneak peek for little "J's" mommy! She won the mommyista contest a few weeks ago and it was a great pleasure to meet the family for a photo shoot right after "J"'s 1st birthday. She was on fire! I am used to kids running away from me and "J" was no exception. Still, with those chubby cheeks and curls I knew it was going to be a blast! Enjoy mom and dad, the rest should be done very soon!

Mommy owns salon solei in Palm Harbor, so I knew she'd probably want to remember these sweet baby curls!

We just happened to cross over to the courtyard where the pink petticoat is. Ok, OK, I kind of planned it when I saw the petti.

If you didn't have it already, you will now. Little "E" was a dream for me last week. She slept, and smiled and didn't cry until I tried to take her outside. In all fairness to her, it was about 62* out that morning, and FL babies generally don't like that kind of frigid weather. (Yes, I know everyone north of Tallahassee just rolled their eyes).

Oh that dimple! I photographed E's big brother and sister about 3 years ago, and her brother has dimples like this too!

Who just started singing? ;)

My oldest used to sing that song repeatedly when he was about 2 1/2. We even tried to have him watch the movie, and he made it through a bit of it, but when it wasn't the "ama mi-a" song repeatedly he decided it wasn't worth it and he'd go back to the cd. I love that memory. I remember how big I thought he was. Now I look back 2 years later at pictures I snapped both in my head and on my camera and I hope I will remember it all when he's 40! There's something about the curve of his eyelashes, the smell of his hair after a bath, and the sweet way he still pronounces the letter "l" like it's a "w" that I just want to bottle up and keep in a break proof vial around my neck so I can open it and breathe in memories any time. Just to think that it seems like yesterday that his little voice chimed out "ama mi-a, here we go again. ma ma, how can i resist-cha!" I know the next few years will fly by even faster. Can you tell I am a bit sentimental tonight? And it's not even his birthday. You thought you had another 4 months before a sappy post about my firstborn!

Anyway, I am really off track. I came on here to announce the openings for my newest mini sessions. The mother's day minis. I have two tiers of sessions this time, which are detailed below. Moms. Listen closely. Forward the link to this blog to your spouse. Tell him you've made mother's day super easy this year and he doesn't have to spend hours wandering the mall debating between New Moon on DVD or an outfit in what he's pretty sure is your size. Oh boy ladies did you make this difficult. I do have to say I am quite glad I did not have to judge these, thank you so much to my three photographer friends who did it for me! I am not going to bore you too long with details, but I do want to say that they hd such a hard time that I added a few prizes. So, there are 2 grand prize, 2 runner ups and 3 honorable mention. You all did a fantastic job.

Grand prize 1 (free session) goes to Marissa. Seriously, when I opened this in my email I melted, and the judges were just giddy with this. You have a very natural talent Marissa and I hope you keep learning and growing. I honestly at first thought this was one of my pro friends trying to be funny and enter. What they loved: the closeness to the baby, and the depth of field, plus the very natural expression you captured!

I did a little Q&A with the entrants and here are Marissa's responses.
1. What were a few of the techniques you applied from the class while taking this shot?
I shot using Aperture priority in attempt to blur the background; She's playing "peek-a-boo" because she was looking for the 'fishy" hidden in my camera while I was dancing around like a fool :) ; I got down on her level; got really close so I could fill the frame and avoid background disturbances; caught her in her environment (chair in her room).
2. What were the lighting conditions?
I was next to a window, sunny day, blinds open, and used a flash.
3. What camera are you using?
Nikon D90
4. Have you ever had any additional photography training? (side note here, this will not eliminate you, but there will a couple that were VERY good so they are just wondering)
At the time of the class, I had also just started a continuing education beginners photography course at USF.

Grand prize 2 (another free session) goes to Alyson.
What the judges loved: How you filled the frame with her face, and the angle. Great even lighting and pretty catchlights and expression on her face.

Here's Alyson's answers...

1. What were a few of the techniques you applied from the class while taking this shot? I got down on her her level, tried to fill the frame the best I could while applying the rule of thirds. I also tilted the camera slightly to add a little more interest to the photo.
2. What were the lighting conditions? The pic was taken mid morning on a very bright sunny day so I took her on the shaded side of the house.
3. What camera are you using? Nikon D90
4. Have you ever had any additional photography training? (side note here, this will not eliminate you, but there will a couple that were VERY good so they are just wondering) I'm currently in a beginning photography class.

Runner up 1 (credit for a 16x20 print from a session with me) is Janice.
What the judges loved: Great even lighting and catchlights. Good position and proximity near baby, and great focus on the face.

What the judges loved: Can literally hear the giggles on this one! Wonderful capture of personality.

Yes, this post will (unfortunately for you) be mostly me rambling. But, some of you will really want this info, so you'll grin and bear it, right?!?!
I promise I'll put some pics at the end of a cute little one year old to make up for it.
Ok, first I want to thank all the moms who joined me for the becoming a mamarazzi workshop hosted by the mommyista. I had a great time and I received a lot of positive feedback. It was great to see so many mama's excited about taking better pictures of their little ones. I am now offering this workshop to moms groups and other groups, so if you are interested in setting one up for your organization, playgroup, PTA, or any other group please call or email me.
For those who attended the mommyista event last week, here's all the info you need to know to win a free session with me!
Submit one full color, unedited and unretouched photograph you have taken in the past week (since the workshop) to me at courtneyvickersphotography@yahoo.com . It must be of your child, aged 0-18 years. If you haven't taken any yet, get crackin' on the techniques we discussed and you have until this Sunday night (March 7) at midnight to submit your entry. I will be submitting all photos to the judges Monday morning. Photos will be judged by a group of photographers from across the country, who will be looking for correct implementation of the tips you learned in the workshop. It's not a "cutest kid" contest. Everyone has cute kids! This is about applying what you learned. The judges will select a grand prize winner (free session) a runner up (credit for 16x20 print from a session with me) and three honorable mention (credit for an 11x14 print from a session with me). Because I do have friends and clients who attended this workshop, I will not be involved in the judging process in any way to keep it absolutely fair. The 5 winners will be announced and featured on my blog next Wednesday, March 10. Aaaaaannnnnnd....GO!

In other news, I still have openings in my girlfriends mini sessions this coming Sunday. I did have a question as to if I was allowing boys in on the sessions, and YES! If you have a little guy and you want to do a buddy session with him and his guys, feel free. Or maybe his best friend is a girl! That's ok too (my little G has mostly girl friends also). Please call or email me as soon as possible to book your spot for this fun event. I have gotten so many emails about what fun it would be. I promise it will be!

Baby "G" is about to be ONE. Her daddy is currently overseas serving our country, as so many daddies are right now. So mommy wanted to make sure she got some great pics of this daddy's girl to send to him. Seriously, this was the very first frame I snapped, and after that I knew it was going to be a great session.

I mean, how can you not love this little face?

She's learning all sorts of new stuff, like how to stand up all by herself, and she loved clapping for me.

Now this little series, I totally heart. I have to explain. Before Daddy left, he went to build a bear and made a bear for "G" that plays his voice saying "I love you". When Grandma got it out of the bag and "G" heard har daddy's voice, she seriously just lit up. It was enough to make this particular softie quite misty eyed.

Love this one too, she looks like she's thinking "bring on the cake". My kind of kid. :)

Daddy, I hope you get a chance to see these, and know that a very special little (almost) one year old loves you and misses you bunches.
